Open Submission Policy
The i-lex – Journal of Law, Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence invites scholars from all fields of law, computer science, and philosophy to submit their contributions for publication. The journal welcomes submissions of research articles, reports, and book reviews on a rolling basis, which are collected, reviewed and published biannually.
Journal Topics
i-lex aims to engage researchers in legal informatics, artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and cognitive sciences as applied to law. The journal fosters interdisciplinary dialogue and promotes empirical and computational methodologies.
Following, possible topics include:
● Legal informatics and its role in modern legal research and practice.
● The application of artificial intelligence in legal reasoning and decision-making.
● The intersection of robotics and law: regulatory challenges and ethical considerations.
● Machine learning techniques in legal text analysis and predictive analytics.
● Cognitive science perspectives on law and artificial intelligence.
● Empirical and computational methodologies applied to legal sciences.
● The impact of AI-driven automation on legal professions and access to justice.
● Cross-disciplinary approaches integrating AI, law, and cognitive sciences.
● Legal and ethical research in socio-technical systems (healthcare, transport, aviation, space, etc.).
Submission and Publication
Articles can be written in Italian or English and should preferably be between 20,000 and 50,000 characters in length (excluding spaces, including notes).
All submitted articles will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
Submissions will be published online following an Open Access policy, with no Article Processing Charges (APC) or further costs.
